Setting up an Ambie HiFi Player

How to set up your Ambie HiFi Player (premium audio playback) and best practices to get the more out of your Ambie HiFi subscription.

Ambie HiFi elevates your music soundtrack by delivering high quality, HD-audio playback that creates an unforgettable experience for your customers.

Our HiFi Player uses a Texas Instruments PCM5242 DAC with a higher signal-to-noise ratio and RCA line-level output. Audio files are delivered in MP3 format at 320 kbit/s to ensure high quality playback at low bandwidth levels .

Specifications:

  • Texas Instruments PCM5242 DAC;
  • Class leading audio; 114db SNR, and -94db THD;
  • High quality audio delivered at 320 kbit/s;
  • Industry-standard audio quality RCA connectors;
  • Advanced ESD protection;
  • Digital I2S audio signals;

There are two key differences in the way the Ambie HiFi Player should be set up:

  1. Connection to your sound system/amplifier. Ambie HiFi uses RCA connectors instead of the standard 3.5mm jack. (NOTE: The Ambie HiFi Player still has a 3.5mm jack but this should NOT be used for the best results). The HiFi Player comes with an RCA-to-RCA cable so just connect one end to the player and one end to your amplifier.
  2. The Player volume. The Ambie HiFi Player has a much stronger output and the volume will be significantly louder than your Standard Player. To ensure the best possible results, please ensure the volume of your HiFi Player is set to 40% before you start using the service (you can adjust the volume using your Dashboard app on web, iOS or Android). You can always increase the volume but it's better to start at 50% and go up.
