A quick guide for setting up your Ambie player

In the box that your Ambie player arrived in, you should have the following:

  • 1 x Ambie Player
  • 1 x set up guide
  • 1 x ethernet cable
  • 1 x power supply
  • 1 x 3.5mm stereo jack audio cable
  • 1 x 3.5mm jack audio cable

When setting up your Ambie player, the player itself needs to be connected to three things, in order for it to work as expected:

  1. Internet/network
  2. Power
  3. Your sound system

Connecting the Ambie player to the internet/your network via ethernet cable

  1. Connect one end of the ethernet cable in to the end of your Ambie player
  2. Connect the other end of the ethernet cable in to an active router or network port

Connecting the Ambie player to the internet/your network via Wifi

In order for you to connect your Ambie player to your wireless network, please refer to this knowledge base article, or call us on 0203 282 7187, and we'll walk you through the steps.

For this wifi set up, you will need:

  • Any device that can connect to a wireless network, such as a laptop, smartphone or tablet
  • The name of the Wifi network you want the player to connect to
  • The password of the Wifi network you want the player to connect to

Connecting your Ambie player to power:

  1. Take the power supply, and plug the plug end into an electrical socket. Ensure the electrical socket is on, and not switched off at the wall.
  2. Connect the micro USB fitting at the opposite end of the power supply, in to the side of the Ambie player itself.
  3. You will know when the Ambie player is receiving power, as there will be a small/faint consistent red light visible through the dotted grill at one end of the Ambie player,

Connecting your Ambie player to your sound system:

How to connect your Ambie player to your sound system, is dependent on what kind of audio set up you have.

In most instances, you will have an audio source (Ambie), that connects to an amplifier, which in turn is connected to your speakers.

  1. Locate your amplifier's audio input ports;
  2. Plug your aux cable into the Ambie player's audio output port (Ambie players come with their own Aux cable);
  3. Plug the other end into your amplifier's audio input ports;
