An overview of Ambie's core algorithm, TLG2, what it does and how it keeps your playlists fresh, updated and free from repeats.
Ambie combines a unique blend of human expertise and smart technology to deliver tailored, on-brand and up-to-date soundtracks for businesses, with significantly less hassle.
At the heart of this technology is the Tracklist Generator algorithm, software designed to support our team of curators by ensuring playlists remain up-to-date and with the least number of repeats. We are excited to announce a big upgrade to the Tracklist Generator software, TLG2.
TLG2 has been in development for over 12 months and promises to improve playlist ‘freshness’, reduce repeats and create a better experience for your customers and employees. This updated version will be automatically rolled out to all Ambie customers over the next month.
How does it work?
Whilst you can’t see the TLG2, it’s fundamental to how music is delivered into your spaces. TLG2 examines each and every track already played over the last few days and selects the freshest songs available to play next.
“This unique algorithm, in combination with our Smart Shuffle technology, keeps the music we’ve handpicked for each client as fresh as possible for staff and customers.”
Ben Yates, Head of Curation at Ambie.
The latest release includes:
- Reduces Repeats: TLG2 ensures all of the tracks your curator has selected are played before the track selection restarts, increasing the amount of unique songs you hear on a day-to-day basis
- Improved Shuffle: TLG2 is constantly reviewing your ‘most recently played’ songs and reducing the likelihood of hearing those songs played again - even in smaller playlists.
- Bespoke Alerts: New custom alerts direct to your Curator. Locations with a high number of repeats or scheduling issues will be flagged, meaning bigger, fresher, updates for you.
