Our brand new Permissions system (released July 2023)

Modified on Fri, 28 Jul 2023 at 10:02 AM

Following lots of fantastic user feedback, we have completely redone the way we manage our user permissions.

This article explains what we've done and how you can benefit from this new functionality.

For customers using the Dashboard or My Ambie mobile app, we now have three User Permissions:

Client: Can view, edit and control the music in all Locations and Areas within the Client

- Manager: Can view, edit and control the music in a specific Location/s and the Areas within that Location/s

- Team: Can view and have selected controls over the music in one Area, within one Location

All of these permissions are now available via the Dashboard and the My Ambie app.

It's worth noting that the 'Team' user will eventually replace the Remote access, reducing the need for two apps/interfaces and making it easier and simpler for teams to use the Ambie product. NOTE: Remote users will still be able to access the Remote until the application is discontinued at the end of December 2023.

Other important changes regarding the new Permission system:

1. You can now have multiple Users at each permission level i.e. you can have multiple Client users using the product at the same time.

2. Managers can be assigned to one or multiple Locations. This is useful for example for regional managers who need control/visibility over multiple locations/venues but not the entire group.

3. All a user needs to login is a unique email address and a password. 'Team' users will no longer need the Serial No and Device Code of the Player to login.

4. If a user forgets their password, this can be easily reset via the Dashboard or My Ambie app (link on the login screen). If a password reset link is NOT received, contact Support as you may have the wrong email address registered on our system.

5. Our next step is to release a page on the Dashboard where you can create and manage all your users. However, until this is complete, to set up or manage users, contact your customer success manager or support.
