How To Get Ambie To Work Effectively On Sonos

Modified on Sun, 7 May, 2023 at 1:11 AM

Ambie is compatible with Sonos but we only work with the products that have a line input - currently the Sonos 5. If not, you will need to purchase a Sonos Port which will connect the Ambie Player to the rest of your system. We have seen that sometimes our customers can experience issues with Sonos dropping off and experiencing music cut-outs. Below are two ways to improve this and prevent it from happening:

  1. Change the audio compression settings to “Compressed”: in the Sonos App -> Settings -> System -> Audio Compression and select “Compressed”.

  2. Change the Sonos system’s wireless channel: in the Sonos App -> Settings -> System -> Network -> SonosNet Channel and select 1, 6, 11. You can try either one of these channels to find the one that works best, ideally you want one that’s not being used by your router, which you can check following these steps.
